Carlos Bergado Ellazar, 85, of Keaau died April 16 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Urdeneta, Pangasinan, the Philippines, he was a retired core sampler operator for the former Puna Sugar Co. and independent papaya farmer. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday (May 20) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Saturday (May 21) at the chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Harold Richard Fernandez, 79, of Ookala died May 2 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a retired service truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., security guard for Global Protective Service at Laupahoehoe Transfer Station and member of Paauilo Nutrition Center and Laupahoehoe Senior Citizens Club. Mildred G. Ouye, 105, of Hakalau died May 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired teacher at the former Hakalau Elementary and Intermediate School and member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ and Hawaii Education Association. Services held.
