Recent Konawaena graduate Chanelle Molina and soon-to-be Hawaii Prep grad Emma Taylor added to their already impressive resumes.
Molina and Taylor, each among the most accomplished female athletes in the history of the BIIF, are members of the Enterprise/HHSAA Hall of Honor class 2016, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association announced Sunday.
Molina, who led the Wildcats to four HHSAA Division championships, two apiece in basketball and volleyball, is attending Washington State on a basketball scholarship.
Taylor, a seven-time state hurdling champion, plans to walk on to Boston College’s track and field team.
The class was selected by a 16-person committee, and the main criteria was athletic achievement, but character, sportsmanship, academic record and community service also were taken into consideration, according to an HHSAA release.
The 12-member class will be formerly inducted at an HHSAA Awards Banquet at 5 p.m. June 5 at Dole Cannery’s Pomaika’i Ballroom on Oahu, and each inductee also will be presented with a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of Enterprise Holdings.
