Everett Konakai Kaiama, 86, of Waimea died April 16 at home. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he was a retired foreman and heavy equipment operator for Hawaiian Dredging Co., Kiewit Construction and Morrison Knudsen Construction, cattle rancher, member of Imiola Congregational Church and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (June 4) at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea. Celebration of life will at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Elizabeth P. Kaiama of Waimea; sons, Dexter (Manu) Kaiama of Kailua, Oahu, and Samuel (Amy) Kaiama of Waimea; daughters, Paulette (Ben) Vocal of Honokaa and Rachel Kaiama of Oahu; stepsons, Robert Cabuag and David (Maurice) Cabuag Jr. of Oahu, Brian (Sarah) Cabuag of North Carolina; stepdaughter, Stacey “Lani” Cabuag of Hilo; brother, Arthur (Beth) Kaiama of California; sister, Gwendolyn Kim of Oahu; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. David Ray Loeding, of Keaau died May 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Minnesota, he was a statistician, teacher at Korean University of Foreign Studies, registrar at Hawaii Community College and former Peace Corps Volunteer in Kona.
