A Saturday morning fire destroyed a home in Kalapana.
According to a Fire Department statement, eight units responded to a 10:24 a.m. report of a fire at 12-4919 Ahia Road.
The first unit arrived on scene at 10:42 a.m. to find the one-story house totally engulfed in flames. The fire was reported under control by 11:10 a.m. and extinguished by 11:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was listed as unknown.
According to county tax records, the property is owned by the John and Maria Lindsey Trust.
