Police are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a person whose image was captured on surveillance cameras in connection with passing counterfeit money at a Hilo store.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a person whose image was captured on surveillance cameras in connection with passing counterfeit money at a Hilo store.
On May 27, a man in his mid-40s purchased items from the store using counterfeit money, police said. The incident was captured on video surveillance cameras.
The man is described as Caucasian, 6 feet tall with a thin build and sandy brown hair. He walks with a noticeable limp and has a large oblong scar on one of his calves.
Anyone who knows the man’s identity is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311, Officer Joshua Gouveia at 961-2213 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
