Police are seeking witnesses to a rock-throwing incident Tuesday afternoon in Hilo.

At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, a Puna woman and her passengers told police they were traveling in a 2005 black Chrysler 300 in the parking lot of a store on the 300 block of Makaala Street, when they were threatened by a male driver and three female occupants of another car.

The incident continued through Pohaku Street and eventually onto Railroad Avenue, where one of the female occupants threw a large rock that struck the Chrysler.

The suspect vehicle, described as a gray Mazda sedan, left the scene in an unknown direction.

Police initiated terroristic threatening and criminal property damage investigations in connection with this incident.
