Born in Hilo, she was retired from the Social Security Administration office in Hilo and a member of Tenrikyo Kilauea Church, Tenrikyo Fujinkai, Tenrikyo Hawaii Shima Kyoyukai, Kamana Line Dancing Group, Kamana Senior Center and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
