Shannon Mathers of Hilo, center, shows how to spin sheep’s wool during an Eastside Spinner’s demonstration Saturday at the Hilo Public Library. Different fibers, including bamboo, alpaca, soy silk, rayon and sheep’s wool, were provided for participants. Mathers also is a member of the Hawaii Handweavers’ Hui.
