Hitoshi Sakoda, 82, of Hilo died June 17 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, he was retired from the former Hawaiian Telephone Co., a U.S. Army veteran, and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Hilo Daijingu.
