A 38-year-old Hilo woman is in police custody after a stabbing in Hilo on Tuesday night.

A 38-year-old Hilo woman is in police custody after a stabbing in Hilo on Tuesday night.

Officers responsed to a wooded area off Wainaku Street after after an 8:52 p.m. call and determined that a 48-year-old man had been stabbed to the right side of his body by his girlfriend, who was living with him in a tent.

The victim, whom police have not publicly identified, was taken to Hilo Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and is reportedly in stable condition.

The man’s girlfriend, Faylana Fromm, was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder. She is being held at the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from Hilo Criminal Investigations Section continue investigating.
