Melvin Toshimi Hayashida, 63, of Kailua-Kona died July 10 in Honolulu. Born in Kealakekua, he was a bartender at Sam’s Hideaway. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday (July 30) at Kona Hongwanji Mission. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Karen; daughters, Jo-Anne (Chris), Koren (Tom) and Trisha (Danny); sister, Lynne (Wayne) Sasaki; brother, Lorrin (Cheri) Hayashida); six grandchildren; two nephews.
