Second-best choice

Second-best choice

I voted for the Bernie Sanders.

I wanted Bernie because I’m sick of politicians. I’m tired of liars.

But Bernie didn’t get the nomination, so now I have another choice.

I can sit at home, and be a good lap dog for Donald Trump, who would make a really, really terrific king, because he makes deals with Vladimir Putin and praises dictators like Kim Jong Un and the Chinese Communist Party.

Or, I can go out and vote for the second-best choice we had during the primary.

For real Republicans (the ones who have real conservative values, as opposed to overwhelming anger): You don’t have to like President Barack Obama, but the facts are that we were going into another Great Depression in 2009 after eight years of Republican rule.

The facts are, Obama brought us back from becoming a Third World country. Remember 2008? Remember 2009?

You don’t have to like Bill Clinton, but the facts are he balanced the budget, and things were good under Clinton.

You don’t have to like a person who will help America — you just need to vote for them if you are a normal, well-adjusted American who cares more about our country than your personal anger.

If you’re full of hatred and anger, then vote for the guy who makes George W. Bush look like an intellectual.

If you care about America, then just take a breath, remember what happened after eight years of Republicans, and vote for America. A real patriot cares more about America than a political party.

Animal cruelty?

I live in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

On Friday, July 29, my next-door neighbors once again slit the throat of a pig, leaving it to suffer and scream for two hours.

When it began, I called the Hawaii Island Humane Society because they told me the last time I called it was occurring before they could do anything.

Well, guess what? They now said they could do nothing. In fact, someone cursed at me and hung up when I called them at 966-5458.

What gives someone in a neighborhood the right to do this? I read recently in the Tribune-Herald’s “Citizens arrested and charged” of a man charged with cruelty to an animal. Is this not the same thing?

To be home and listen to this barbarian act is disgusting.

Does anyone out there agree, and is there someone we can call and put a stop to this insane behavior?

The finger

Chelsea Kent’s finger gesture (during the Democratic National Convention) not only shamed her as a representative from Hawaii, but her gesture shames all of us.
