Kent’s gesture
Kent’s gesture
Chelsea Kent’s finger was a symbol of what most Americans think of the political process: It’s biased, corrupt and has little to do with what democracy is supposed to be.
They fired the Democratic National Convention chairman not because she was sabotaging Bernie Sanders, but because she got caught doing it. (The only rule in politics: DON’T GET CAUGHT).
How corrupt is it? Sanders got 70 percent of the Hawaii vote. Hillary Clinton got 70 percent of the Hawaii delegates. It was rigged from the start.
Then, we have our lying, hypocritical, pompous, self-inflated, blowhard Democrat leaders stand up and say Kent’s gesture was not the “aloha spirit of Hawaii.” What a load of (crap).
How do backroom deals, backstabbing candidates, rigged votes, cheating, slander and massive outright lying have ANYTHING to do with the aloha spirit?
The American voters on both sides are sick of the status quo. Both candidates are crooks put in by a crooked, bought-and-sold system.
Her finger summed up what a lot of us think about our politicians and the system.
Hawaii should not be ashamed of her but the political farce of democracy in America.

Shared doubt
After watching the conventions, I am moved by the lack of enthusiasm from Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz.
I believe their doubt comes from not being “also ran,” but rather from a sincere concern, shared by many of us, that neither candidate is well qualified to lead our country at this juncture in history.
I am not a political science major, what happens if a majority of voters choose “none of the above”?
