Pahoa artist Sara Steiner and restaurateur Salvador Luquin are teaming up to produce “Pahoa’s Got Talent” from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 8 at Luquin’s Historic Akebono Theater.

There also will be an after-party till midnight for the performers and audience to mingle.

Auditions for adults 21 and older living in the 96778 ZIP code or close proximity will take place using the Facebook page “Pahoa’s Got Talent,” where applicants will post a short clip of their act, inviting the public and friends to comment and share. Deadline for submissions is Sept. 15 and final decisions will be announced Sept. 22.

Applications for entertainers and volunteers can be requested by emailing PahoaToday@gmail.com. Volunteers are needed in areas ranging from IT to set construction, lighting and promotion.

Steiner was inspired to organize this event for Pahoa and its residents to showcase positive and entertaining views of her beloved town and its people. She hopes to have it shown on Na Leo public access television as well as other venues.
