Aukai Wong

Aukai Wong

Sport: basketball

Wong, a 2005 Hilo graduate and former UH-Hilo Vulcan, put on an all-around performance that would make his favorite athlete proud Saturday night in the championship game of the Hawaii College Basketball League in Honolulu.

Wong scored 30 points and added nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals to lead Electricians Hawaii to 91-70 victory against Chosen Few. Hitting six 3-pointers, Wong was named the game’s MVP.

Lest you think there was no talent on the court, think again. One of Wong’s teammates was former Washington State guard Derrick Low, one of the best basketball players to come out of the state in recent memory.
