Hilo Woman’s Club awards scholarships

The Hilo Woman’s Club recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to three graduating East Hawaii students.

The three recipients are Alyssa Ascuncion, a graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii, and Lauren Villafuerte and Lexi Damacio, both graduates of Honokaa High School. All three women will attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo this fall.

The East Hawaii community service organization has been awarding scholarships to deserving female students since 1953.
