Samuel “Sam” Kamuela Kaeo Jr., 65, of Hilo died Aug. 12 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired laborer for Harada Contracting, member of New Hope Christian Fellowship and Kuhilani Street Association, U.S. Navy veteran, and coached the Waiakea Nakoas Pop Warner football team and New Hope Angels, HIA and Men’s Yellow Jackets baseball clubs.
