The Hawaii Island Art Alliance and the Wailoa Center are sponsoring the Big Island Woodworkers Invitational exhibit Oct. 7-27 in conjunction with the Big Island Ukulele Guild’s 12th annual Stringed Instrument Show.

All woodwork will be considered, with an emphasis on furniture.

“We like to design the exhibit as it might look in someone’s home,” said Wailoa Center director Codie King. “This is a great opportunity to exhibit and get your name out there to the public.

“This show generates a lot of interest by the public and is open on Saturdays as well, thanks to the partnership with the Big Island Ukulele Guild.”

Woodworkers interested in showing their furniture, sculptures or bowls are invited to participate. For more information about how to enter, call the Wailoa Center at 933-0416 or email wailoa@yahoo.com.

The take-in date for all wood submissions is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 30, or other times by special arrangement.
