Roy Dale Hall, 68, of Kalapana died Sept. 10 at home after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Dallas, he was a finish carpenter, combat-wounded U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran, surfer, and founded a veterans’ stand-up paddleboard group at Reeds Bay. In his honor and to help his fellow veterans, the family is calling for an improvement in veterans’ services in Hawaii.
