Douglas Takao Hayashi, 74, of Hilo died Sept. 7 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired carpenter. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 9) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Ann Hayashi of Hilo, Jennifer (Kevin) Santo of Pearl City, Oahu, and Holly Hayashi of Honolulu; sister, Mineko (Donald) Takeuchi of Altadena, Calif.; brothers, Gary (Olga) Hayashi of Hilo and Rodney (Jeannie) Hayashi of Wailuku, Maui; nieces and nephews.
