The East Hawaii region of Hawaii Health Systems Corp. welcomes Janiece McNichols as its regional chief financial officer for Hilo Medical Center, Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua and Ka‘u Hospital and the region’s 10 outpatient clinics.
The East Hawaii region, the largest and most diverse of the five HHSC regions throughout the state, employs 1,300 people for a combined annual payroll of $120 million and uses more than 300 island vendors for goods and services. As East Hawaii’s largest employer, its economic impact is significant for Hawaii County.
“I feel fortunate to join the East Hawaii region where I’m surrounded by dedicated associates, physicians and hospital staff, as well as a very active community and board of directors,” McNichols said. “My philosophy is that finance is interrelated in providing an overall great patient experience. It takes all of us to make that experience a positive one.”
Before her recent move to Hilo, McNichols, originally from Arkansas, was part of Denver’s Centura Health.
Hawaii Health Systems Corp. is a public entity established in 1996 by the state of Hawaii to fulfill the promise to provide quality, hometown health care.
