In her second match, Haylee Roberts answered the call with 13 kills on a .400 hitting clip as the Vulcans swept Fresno Pacific 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 on Saturday night.

As per custom, Strand-Nicolaisen took the most swings (34) and knocked down 14 kills and hit a stellar .294 for the Vuls (6-8, 4-5 PacWest). She had 10 digs to finish with a double-double.

Roberts, a sophomore transfer from Division I Fresno State, took 25 swings from the right post and had just three errors.

They carried the offense, which had a .248 hitting percentage.

Every other UHH hitter struggled: Siera Green (seven kills, .097) and Kyndra Trevino-Scott (five kills, .118).

Karah Mitchell blasted 19 kills and hit .368 for the Sunbirds (5-9, 3-7), who had a .143 hitting clip and no one else to threaten UHH’s defense.

The Vuls snapped a three-game skid and face Dixie State (12-5, 8-1 ) at 5 p.m. on Monday at UHH Gym.
