Temple’s bazaar, rummage sale set
Honomu Henjoji Mission will welcome the community to its annual bazaar and rummage sale from 7:30 a.m.-noon Oct. 29 at 28-1668 Old Mamalahoa Highway in Honomu.
There will be baked goods, produce, maki sushi, nishime, chili, Spam musubi, clothing, household items, crafts, plants, books and miscellaneous items for sale.
The Shingon Buddhist temple is located off Highway 19 at the Akaka Falls turnoff, next to Mr. Ed’s Bakery.

Church hosting craft, food fair
The public is invited to Puna Covenant Church’s annual craft and food fair scheduled for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 5 at the church, 16-647 Old Volcano Road in Keaau.
The event will feature holiday crafts, baked goods, food concessions and a plant sale.

Show to benefit Food Basket
“Cold Sweat — A Tribute to James Brown” returns to Hilo with a performance from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 28 at Hilo Town Tavern, 168 Keawe St.
This dance-filled evening revisits the classic funk music of “The Godfather of Soul” presented live by a seven-piece band, including a full horn section and featuring Chris Campbell performing as James Brown.
The show is for ages 21 and older with a door charge of $10, or $8 with the donation of one or more canned food items to the Food Basket, Hawaii Island’s food bank.
Each month, the Food Basket serves 12,000 people in Hawaii County.
