Theresa “Mama T” Grace, 61, of Captain Cook died Oct. 11 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a clerk typist at Konawaena Elementary School, worked as a school custodian and a security officer for Reynolds Kamakawiwoole and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Friends can call at 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the family’s residence, 81-6308 Mamalahoa Highway in Captain Cook for a 7 p.m. wake service and overnight vigil. Service 8 a.m. Oct. 29 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Casual attire; flowers welcome. William “Bill” Thomas Ivey Jr., 88, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 15 at his residence. Born in Augusta, Ga., he retired from a distinguished career as a lawyer and judge. Private service held. Eric Calvin Edsman Jr., 61, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 5 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was director of maintenance for Puako Fire Department Station 14, a security officer and bookkeeper for the Kona Hukilau and Kona Seaside, a helicopter mechanic for Kenai Helicopter and Sunshine Helicopter Air Resources and was employed by E.E. Black and Thornton construction companies. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Puako Fire Department Station 14. Casual attire; lei welcome. Kameichi “Richard” Yawata, 102, of Waimea died Oct. 17 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Waialua, he owned the former Dick’s Wholesale in Honolulu and was an active member of Ho‘oNani Day Center and Kupuna CrossFit AllStar of Waimea.
