Avelina “Abbie” Acol Alcain, 81, of Keei died Oct. 15 at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Wailua, Oahu, she was an educational assistant at Honaunau and Hookena Elementary schools. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Hawaii Government Employees Association. Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua for a 7 p.m. rosary service and all-night vigil. Friends may call again at 8 a.m. Nov. 5 at the church for 10 a.m. Mass. Burial at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Luncheon to follow at Yano Hall in Captain Cook. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Charles “Chuck” Wade Fleming, 77, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Los Angeles, he was a retired program administrator for the California Department of Rehabilitation and the Employment Development Department.
