Berj Hagopian, 91, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 2 at home. Born in Chicago, he was a retired engineer and entrepreneur, previously owned The Mask and My Bar in Kona and was a U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran who served in Guadacanal, Saipan, Guam and Iwo Jima. Graveside services with full military honors at noon Nov. 10 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Lida Hagopian of Kailua-Kona; son, Charles Hagopian of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Kimberly Hagopian of Los Angeles and Karen Hagopian of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren. ClarkDan Kaopua Kamanawa, 61, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 22 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a laborer for the former Kamehameha Investment Corp., Kakoupu Construction, C&H Ishii Contracting and Kona Contracting, a former baggage handler for Grayline Tour Co. and a former pineapple picker. Carolyn Hanako Seto, 91, of Hilo died Oct. 10 at her family’s residence. Born in Ahualoa, she was a retired clerk for First Hawaiian Bank, teacher’s aide at Christ Lutheran Nursery School and member of the Lutheran Women’s Ministry League and Waiakea Houselots Lower Association. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Kapiolani St. in Hilo. Casual attire.
