I recently spent a few days at the surgical/pediatric unit at Hilo Medical Center. I went there in extreme pain in the middle of the night, wondering if my time was near.
Upon arriving, I was promptly taken care of. They diagnosed the problem, eased the pain and conducted surgery that took care of the problem before dawn. The awesome staff of doctors, nurses and support staff was very professional, caring and took great care of me. This provided great relief to me and my family. I was very comfortable, and the staff was always available for any concerns I had.

Fortunately, I have been in few hospitals in my life. I am proud of our local hospital for being a class act in patient care. I wish I could come give you all a hug. Maybe I will.

college
I’m sure, in the interest of journalistic balance, you will publish an editorial that defends the electoral college for the important function it was designed for: giving voters in less populous states the ability to have a voice in national elections.
Without the electoral college, the populous states of California and New York will decide every election essentially by default. Unlike the editors at the Baltimore Sun and evidently the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, the framers of the Constitution understood the tyranny of the majority and the basic unfairness it is in a nation of sovereign states.
This is exactly why they designed a republic with an electoral college and not a pure democracy for elections.
It is evident that if the outcome of the presidential election had been reversed, you would not have published an editorial calling for the end of the college.
Recent polls have shown that 75 percent of the citizenry do not believe that the press is trustworthy or reporting objectively. Is this what the Tribune-Herald wants to further?
It is in the best interest of the citizenry to give both sides of an issue so the readers have the ability to judge for themselves the correct course of action for the nation.
