Charles “Chuck” William Gallagher, 82, of Hilo died Nov. 20 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a Buddhist, boat builder, surfer, canoe paddler, ukulele player and sailor. Scattering of ashes the first week of December in the waters of Hilo. Survived by daughters, Karen Gallagher and Kristina Marquez of Haleiwa, Oahu; son, Keith Gallagher of Haleiwa; companion, “Sweetie” Theodora “Teddy” Mukai of Hilo; one granddaughter. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Curtis Kealakai Kealoha, 69, of Honolulu died Nov. 10 in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired power plant operator for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, life member of Military Order of the Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 1 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 858. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 29) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Services and celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Burial at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by sons, Dayton (Brandy) Kealoha of Bremerton, Wash., and Brandon Kealoha of Hilo; daughter, Leenette Kealoha of Hilo; brothers, Llewellyln Kealoha of Las Vegas and Roland Kealoha of Honolulu; sisters, Claudia Valencia of Arizona, Jocelyn Kealoha of Honolulu, Jo-Anne Kauahikaua of Washington, Gwen Awa of Haleiwa, Oahu, and Ernestine (Brian) Kaauomo of Maui; grandchildren; uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
