Now in its sixth year of its Share the Love sales campaign, Subaru Hawaii again will donate $250 for each new Subaru purchased to nonprofits focused on Subaru’s causes.
The campaign, which runs through Dec. 31, is intended to increase awareness and financially benefit nonprofit organizations in Subaru’s focus areas of learning/reading, animals and the environment.
This year’s beneficiaries are: Friends of the Library of Hawaii, Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, Hawaii Island Humane Society, Hawaiian Humane Society, Maui Humane Society and Kauai Humane Society.
Last year, six nonprofit beneficiaries received $30,000 in total donations.
Stop in at Big Island Motors in Kona and Hilo for pet adoption day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 3 and receive a special pet starter gift basket with every adoption.
Subaru Hawaii will cover all adoption fees at both locations and provide a $25 Petco gift certificate to each family who adopts an animal.
Subaru owners who adopt will receive an extra surprise gift. For those who cannot adopt, but still want to participate, a Subaru Forester will be on-site to collect donations and pet supplies.
Subaru also is launching an Instagram contest, #sharethelove808, open to the public. The winner, selected by Subaru Hawaii, will receive a GoPro.
To enter, Hawaii residents must visit Subaru vehicle displays at local malls that will be stickered with Share the Love graphics, take a photo/selfie with the Subaru and hashtag on Instagram #sharethelove808 with an additional hashtag to identify the cause they support:
• #sharethelove808 #pets
• #sharethelove808 #learning
• #sharethelove808 #earth
Vehicle displays will be at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo during the month of December.
