Hawaii County Band to play
The Hawaii County Band will play a number of holiday and seasonal selections during a concert at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 15 in conjunction with the county’s Magic of the Season Open House at the Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni St. in Hilo.
Darlene Ahuna and the Sarah Bethany Band also will entertain. The performances are free.

The Hawaii County Band also is marching in the Keaau Christmas Parade, which begins at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
Church offering Christmas concert
Berean Bible Church will present its annual Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the church, 420 Lama St. in Panaewa.
The program will feature adult and children choirs, string ensemble, solos and congregational caroling. A Christmas message will be given by kahu Daniel Costales. The program and sermon will be followed by refreshments. The public is invited to share this time of spiritual celebration.

Love to perform Saturday at VAC
Singer-songwriter Gigi Love will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Volcano Art Center’s Niaulani Campus.
Love’s full-length CD “National Parks Centennial Songs,” commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, is all about her passion for national parks and capturing the story of the parks through song. During the summer of 2016, Love was on the road visiting more than a dozen parks in the U.S. and writing a song for each one.
