The nonprofit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center is hosting a free talk from noon-1 p.m. Thursday as part of its “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” Brown Bag Lunch Series.
The talks are the third Thursday of every month in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, 655 Kilauea Ave. in Hilo.
This month’s speaker is Erika Ginnis and her talk is titled “Cultivating Inner Peace: Tips and Techniques for the Holidays and Beyond.”
“Cultivating inner peace is important, since people, places and things don’t always behave in the way we’d like them to,” Ginnis said. “When you release trying to control the world around you and instead focus on what you can control — that which is within — you create a positive effect without effort.”
In this talk, participants will learn some helpful methods, including guided visualization, for dealing with stress during the holidays — and beyond.
Ginnis has served as a counselor, teacher and ordained minister since 1982, and a local publisher since 2009.
She is the owner of Inspiration is the Inbreath of Spirit and Inbreath Communication, and the author of “Essential Mysteries: A User’s Guide for the 21st Century Mystic.” Ginnis has worked with people around the world, helping them find their inner peace and realize their dreams.
Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
This lunch-and-learn series is made possible in part by funding from the Atherton Family Foundation.
