Hawaii Island Adult Care has a few special activities lined up for its next Caregiver Connection Monthly Caregiver Respite Day from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at 34 Rainbow Drive in Hilo.
Audrey Wilson, Tribune-Herald food columnist, will demonstrate how to debone a chicken, and guest speaker Lisa Fleury of Ululani Pharmacy will share ways to manage medication with the Patient Adherence Strip System.
Along with qigong, complimentary massage, healthy snacks and talk-story with other family caregivers, HIAC says this is a perfect way to celebrate and reinvigorate skills as a caregiver.
There is a $10 registration fee; people can reserve a place by phone or in person. Scholarships are available and free adult care is provided.
