Man critically injured in shooting
HONOLULU (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head Christmas Day at a Honolulu shopping center and a search for the suspect is underway.
Officers responded to the shooting Sunday inside the Ala Moana Center’s parking structure to find Stevie Feliciano with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. The shopping center was closed for the Christmas holiday.
Police say the victim and the suspect were arguing before the suspect retrieved a gun from his vehicle and opened fire. The suspect, 20-year-old Dae Han Moon, fled the scene, and police say a car matching the description of his vehicle was found torched in Kunia about an hour after the shooting.

NYU student pleads not guilty in Hawaii albatross killings
HONOLULU (AP) — A 19-year-old New York University student accused of killing seabirds at a Hawaii nature reserve pleaded not guilty Tuesday to animal cruelty.
Christian Gutierrez, who is home in Honolulu for winter break, turned himself in to the state Department of Public Safety last week and was released on $25,000 bail.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources began investigating after three Laysan albatrosses were found dead last year in Kaena Point Natural Area Reserve. There also were 15 destroyed nests with smashed, dead or missing eggs, the department said.
Gutierrez is charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty and other charges. Court documents say the crimes took place Dec. 27, 2015.
