IRVINE, Calif. — Ioannis Dimakopoulos and Jaron Martin scored 12 points apiece, and UC Irvine rolled to an 84-56 victory over Hawaii on Saturday night for its fourth straight win.
Dimakopoulos was 6 of 10 from the field and Martin 5 of 8 with a pair of 3s. John Edgar Jr. added 10 points for the Anteaters (9-9, 2-0 Big West), who shot 57 percent from the floor and outrebounded Hawaii 39-28.
Matthew Owies scored 13 points and made two 3-pointers to lead Hawaii (6-9, 0-2), which shot 36 percent and just 3 of 24 from 3-point range.
UC Irvine took the lead for good midway through the first half, and closed on a 26-7 run for a 39-20 lead at the break. The Anteaters stretched their lead to 29 points with about seven minutes left.
The 28-point final difference marked UH’s largest margin of defeat this year.
Cal Davis women 70, UH 55
Morgan Bertsch led the Aggies with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting and added a game-high eight rebounds, and host Irvine (11-4, 2-0 Big West) became the first Hawaii opponent to score 70 points since UCLA scored 72 on Dec. 4.
Sarah Toeaina went 7-for-10 from the free throw line to lead the Rainbow Wahine (4-10, 0-2) with 13 points, while Olivia Crawford added 11 points after going 3-of-7 from 3-point range. Leah Salanoa added nine points for the Rainbow Wahine.
Hawaii hit 18-of-61 attempts from the field to shoot 30 percent in the game, and went 6-of-18 (33 percent) from 3-point range.

No. 7 Hawaii beat No. 15 Ball State 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 on Saturday in Honolulu to capture its their second consecutiveOutrigger Resorts Invitational and eighth overall.
Opposite Stijn van Tilburg was the tournament’s first two-time winner of the Most Outstanding Player Award after finishing with a match-high 18 kills.
