Born in Honaunau, he was a retired engineer for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, boiler technician for the former Kohala Sugar Co., Hawaii County reserve police officer, promotional entertainer for Hawaiian Airlines, founding member of Kohala’s Cosmo Combo band, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of ILWU, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday (Jan. 27) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 55-337 Akoni Pule Highway in Hawi. Visitation again 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the church. Eulogy at 9:30 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire; no flowers.
