The Alzheimer’s Association will present a series of informational workshops during three Saturdays in February at the Aging and Disability Resource Center in Hilo.
The workshops will be facilitated by Hilo program coordinator Chris Ridley.
Seating for the workshops is limited. The Aging and Disability Resource Center is located at 1055 Kinoole St. For reservations or more information, call Ridley at 443-7360.

9 a.m., “What Is Dementia?” a workshop that reviews dementia, the symptoms, warning signs, misconceptions and potential treatments. Includes short videos of people with the disease, family members of people with dementia and various professionals.
11 a.m., “A Time To Remember” (2003), a film about a family reunion at Thanksgiving.
1 p.m., “Living with Forgetfulness” (Part 1), for anyone who is forgetful and their family.
Feb. 11
9 a.m., “Legal Aspects in Dementia,” information about advance directives, various legal documents and planning strategies.
11 a.m., “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter,” a film about a daughter’s experience with her mother’s dementia.
1 p.m., “Living with Forgetfulness” (Part 2).
Feb. 18
9 a.m., “Communication and Behaviors in Dementia,” information about possible causes and types of behaviors that might arise during the course of dementia as well as potential interventions.
11 a.m., “Savages” (2007), a tragic comedy about adult children caring for their father with dementia.
1 p.m., “Living with Forgetfulness” (Part 3).
