Free beginner’s junior golf clinic Feb. 11

A free beginner’s junior golf clinic will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Hilo Muni driving range.

The clinic will be conducted by PGA pro Kevin Hayashi for ages 17 and younger.

Softball for ages 12,14 and under

The Gummy Bears softball team will hold open practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Ainaola Park softball field starting at 4:30 p.m.

The Pirates Organization affiliate is looking for girls interested in participating in the 12-and-under and 14-and-under divisions. To participate bring along shoes, a glove and water.

Haili girls tourney runs Feb. 20-25

The annual Haili girls volleyball tournament will be held Feb. 20-25 at Hilo Armory.

The 60th annual Haili Volleyball Tournament will be held from March 27 to April 1. Applications may be downloaded from hailivolleyball.com.

Both tournaments have an entry fee and the deadline is Feb. 6.

Waiakea fun runs March 5

Waiakea High School’s 5K and 1.5-mile junior/sophomore fun runs will be held March 5.

Applications can be picked up at the school office or visit www.leaguelineup.com/sunrise-athletics.
