The Women’s Center at the University of Hawaii at Hilo announces a trilogy of events open to the public in observance of V-Day, the global movement designed to end violence against women and girls.
The times and dates of the events are:
• Noon on Wednesday, One Billion Rising Flash Mob Dance at the Campus Center Plaza. Free T-shirts to the first 100 participants. Open practice sessions are 1:15-2:15 p.m. today at the UH-Hilo Old Gym and 11 a.m.-noon on Monday at the Campus Center Plaza.
• 5 p.m. Feb. 18, selected readings from “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writings To Stop Violence Against Women and Girls” at the UH-Hilo Old Gym.
• 7 p.m. Feb. 18, “The Vagina Monologues” at the UH-Hilo Old Gym. This will be its 14th showing in Hilo.
The cost is $10 per show or $15 for both. “TVM” T-shirts will be available for $10.
