How many hot dogs can you eat?

How many hot dogs can you eat?

Find out from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday during the third annual All You Can Eat Hot Dog Jam fundraiser for the band departments of Hilo Complex schools at the Waiakea High School gym.

Bring your appetite and create your favorite rendition of a hot dog, choosing from toppings such as chili, cheese, onion, kimchi, sauerkraut, relish, salsa and more.

For a $10 fee at the door, enjoy as many hot dogs as you like while listening to musical entertainment provided by the community’s school bands, the University of Hawaii at Hilo Jazz Band and host G. Cruz

There also will be retail booths such as WIS Robotics, Fusion Lemonade, Cupcakes Boom, Jamba Juice and Braddah Pops. Money raised from sales of additional drinks and snacks will go toward instrument purchases and repair, extracurricular educational experiences, performance trips and other expenses.

“Last year, this event raised almost $11,000 for Hilo’s band departments, while everyone had a great time and raved over the dogs thanks to Frank’s Foods and Love’s Bakery,” said Jam organizer Kathy Plack. “Music is the spice of life and it feels great to support our schools and our students in their musical journey.”

For more information, call Plack at 557-1380.
