BIG ISLAND CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL
Where: Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, 62-100 Kauna‘Oa Drive, Kohala Coast

Details: “Worth Its Weight in Gold: The History of Chocolate” is the theme for the sixth annual festival. General admission tickets to the gala are $79 presale and $100 at the door. Special room/ticket packages available. The two-day chocolate extravaganza includes a cacao plantation tour at Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory, a college culinary competition and several public foodie and agriculture-themed seminars. Activities culminate 5-9 p.m. April 29 with the indoor-outdoor festival gala. Attendees can vote for best savory and best sweet culinary creations while culinary stations will be judged by celebrity chefs. Enjoy entertainment, dancing and silent auction to benefit local nonprofits.

KA‘U COFFEE FESTIVAL

Details: Celebrating award-winning Ka‘u coffee, the ninth annual festival offers unique and exciting activities May 19-28.
