There’s a new shop in town for your fabric and needlework needs.

There’s a new shop in town for your fabric and needlework needs.

Proprietor Yvonne Egdamin announces the opening of Strings at 285 Kinoole St., Suite No. 202, near McDonald’s.

Born of her passion for quilting, knitting, embroidery and needlepoint, Egdamin hopes her new shop will fill the gap for the many creative people to learn and find beautiful and quality supplies.

“Shopping online may be the trend but nothing beats the joy and comfort of lingering over colorful fabric, yarn and threads,” Egdamin said. “It is the kind of product you want to see and feel to make sure it is something you want to work with.

“So much effort goes into our work — we want our beautiful creations to last for generations.”

Egdamin’s goal is to revive fabric and the needle arts and teach the next generation. Strings will offer project kits and classes for people of all skill levels. All are invited to stop by for inspiration.

Shop hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
