The Cowgirls defeated the Dragons 11-8 in a BIIF Division II softball season opener on Tuesday at Honokaa Park.
Mikayla Kekoa batted 4 for 4, including a homer and double, with six RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Cowgirls.
Jurner Kiawe went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Keikoa Yamura 2 for 2 with three runs scored, and Deysha Yamasaki scored three runs.
Antonette Fernandez pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win. Symphony Kauanoe followed with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and whiffed four. Kekoa closed the game with one inning and two strikeouts.
