Wine, cheese event to support club
The Hilo Woman’s Club is presenting its annual fundraising Wine and Cheese Tasting event from 4-8 p.m. April 1 at the club, 7 Lele St.
Under the tutelage of the delightful Randy Nunokawa, proprietor of Grapes, A Wine Store, guests will sample a large variety of fine cheeses and wine. Additional delights will be offered in the form of heavy pupus and live music by Jazz x2. A silent auction also will be offered.
The Hilo Woman’s Club has served the arts, education and families since 1921 when a group of forward-thinking women determined to make a difference in the cultural, physical and social fabric of Hilo and its surrounding areas.
Like their predecessors, the women who make up the club membership today are equally determined and work diligently to present donations to the community and scholarships to college students studying at Hawaii Community College and University of Hawaii at Hilo.
There is $35 donation per ticket. All proceeds will go to the club’s community-building fund.
