Frances “Manu” Kaipoleimanu Long Brand, 94, of Waimea died March 14 at home. Born April 15, she was a retired tour director for Unitours and member of Daughters of Hawaii. Survived by daughters, Marjorie White and Mikiala Brand of Waimea; son, Krauth (Theresa) Brand of Point Reyes Station, Calif.; brothers, Charles Long and William Long both of Maui; three grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Judy Frohman Kosches, 87, of Chicago, formerly of Keaau, died March 18 in Chicago. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a former fashion model and retail salesperson. Graveside service 9 a.m. Friday (March 24) at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Her family will “sit shiva” (Jewish mourning period) for three days following services. Casual attire requested. Alan Marvin Lakritz, 73, of Keaau died March 18 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in New York City, he was a photographer, owner of the former Cycle Logic motorcycle shop, member of the Baha’i Faith of Puna, president of Rotary Club of Pahoa Sunset and board member of Mainstreet Pahoa Association and Kalani Honua. Song Soon Ann Lee, 91, of Hilo died Feb. 17 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Olaa, she was a retired elementary school teacher in California, on Oahu and at Waiakeawaena Elementary School. Services held. Survived by husband, David Dongsup Lee of Hilo; daughters, Donna (Phillip, Esq.) Carey of Hilo, Marsha (John Chappell) Lee of California and Carolyn Lee of Hilo; son, Daniel (Jung Hae) Lee of Hilo; sisters, Diane Kim and Meng (David) Shearer of Hilo, Helen Lee of San Mateo, Calif., and Han Sung (Jim) Barry of Kailua-Kona; brothers, H. Jacqueline “Jackie” Nolte Liwai Pung, 95, of Waikoloa died March 15 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu, she was Hawaii’s first woman professional golfer, winner of the 1952 USGA National Women’s Amateur Championship, five-time winner on the LPGA Tour, teaching pro at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Waikoloa Village Golf Course and charter member of the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame.
