The Japanese Community Association of Hawaii is offering two $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors whose interest is primarily in Japanese studies and who intend to pursue a degree at a college or university in the United States or Japan.
Postsecondary students formerly from the Big Island also can be considered. Preference is given to an applicant whose parent or guardian is a member in good standing of the JCAH.

North Hawaii Community Hospital
North Hawaii Community Hospital has two scholarship opportunities available for graduating high school students and students in the field of nursing.
The Peggy Dineen-Orsini Scholarship offers a $2,000 award to a resident of Hawaii County who is enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a National League of Nursing accredited program in Hawaii or on the mainland. Private donors along with the medical staff at North Hawaii Community Hospital fund this scholarship in memory of Dineen-Orsini, who was a registered nurse at North Hawaii Community Hospital from 1996-2004. She is remembered for her compassion for her patients, colleagues and friends.
A second scholarship is funded by Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated Inc. This $3,000 scholarship is for a graduating high school student with demonstrated financial need and who might have limited ability to attend college without financial assistance.
Applicants must be high school seniors from North Hawaii with a compelling financial need and enrolled full time during their scholarship year.
