The Hawaii Student Society of Health Systems Pharmacy at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy will be conduct a brown bag medication reconciliation event from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday during Hawaii Island Adult Care’s respite day for caregivers.

Participants are invited to bring all their prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs to learn about their medications and how to avoid preventable medication-related challenges.

The Caregiver Connection Respite Day also will feature Hilo’s favorite foodie, Audrey Wilson, who will be styling delicious, healthy food tips.

To further aid recovery from the week’s stresses (and taxes), Faith LeLievre, HIAC’s own “mistress of qigong,” will be sharing knowledge from this ancient Chinese practice of balance and well-being.

Reserve a spot or just drop by and enjoy a massage from one of HIAC’s dedicated massage therapists who will be standing by to give caregivers the attention they deserve.

HIAC organizes the respite days as an opportunity for people to meet and share with other family caregivers. HIAC offers free adult day care during the event.

Hawaii Island Adult Care is located at 34 Rainbow Drive in Hilo. For more information or to RSVP, call 961-3747, ext. 101, or email hiac@hawaiiislandadultcare.org.
