HONOLULU (AP) — Officials have released the name of a woman who died after falling about 50 feet while hiking on Oahu.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim on Saturday as 32-year-old Jennifer Allen.
Firefighters had responded to the Nuuanu trail on Thursday after someone reported a woman falling.
Rescuers found the woman unconscious at the base of a waterfall.
She was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
It is still unclear what caused the Honolulu woman to fall.
Police investigate woman’s death, arrest suspect for murder
HONOLULU (AP) — Authorities say a woman has died following a physical altercation in a Honolulu neighborhood.
Police arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree murder after they responded to an apartment building early Friday. The man was later released.
Police say the 54-year-old woman was struck with an object but they have not specified what type of object.
The woman’s death remains under investigation.
