The University of Hawaii at Hilo is hosting a panel discussion about the ethical and political issues associated with human trafficking.
The event is slated for 5:15 p.m. Tuesday (April 18) in UCB Room 100 on the UH-Hilo campus at 200 W. Kawili St. in Hilo.
The forum, titled “Human Trafficking: A Global, National and Local Issue,” is free and open to the public.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Panel participants will include U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), county First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Dale Ross and Celia Bardwell-Jones, associate professor of philosophy and chairwoman of the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at UH-Hilo.
The event is sponsored by the UH-Hilo Women’s Center, American Association of University Women, UH-Hilo Gender and Women’s Studies, UH-Hilo, county Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and Gabbard’s office.
