Malia Pumehana Wheeler Kaupiko Fujikawa, 38, of Hilo died April 3 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Kona, she worked in the medical profession and was a loving mother, committed friend and protector of Hawaiian land, sea and culture. The Rev. Franklin Seguerre, 73, of Benicia, Calif., died Feb. 17 at home. Born in Hilo, he was an ordained minister and presbyter with Filipino Assemblies of the First-Born who helped found two churches, Crossroads Foursquare Church in Fairfield, Calif., and Faith Gospel Center in Vallejo, Calif., retired electronics and computer and information technology expert who owned Zadok Computer Consultants and worked with Weyerhouser Mortgage Co. and Irwin Home Equity. The joy of his life was “faith, family, and fishing.” Services held. Survived by wife, Pat (Balanon) Seguerre; children, Roman (Jean Cortez), Trish Alava (Arne) and Noel (Ramona Aguila); siblings are David Seguerre, the Rev. Teofilo (Sonny) Seguerre Jr., of Honolulu, Evelyn (Leo) Moldero, Eliseo Queja of Hilo, Consolacion (Emeliano) Valle and Alfred Seguerre of California; six grandchildren.
