‘A dreadful mistake’
‘A dreadful mistake’
It’s a common practice for the aristocracy to fill the campaign coffers of politicians who will do their bidding.
But it’s quite another thing to elect to the highest office in the land one of the very pillars of that aristocracy, Donald J. Trump.
What those who elected Trump don’t seem to understand is that filthy rich people like him habitually filter every decision they make through not only the preservation of their wealth but its increase. More and more is not enough. They know nothing else.
The conflicts of interest that will characterize the Trump administration will be breathtaking and astonishing and will cause the Founding Fathers to spin in their graves.
The folks who voted for Trump have made a dreadful mistake. The struggle to correct that mistake will be the challenge of this age.

Uniting Korea
Aloha. Imagine this: Our Mayor Harry Kim, a man of Korean descent who knows too well the horrors of war, issues a press release offering to host the leaders of North and South Korea in the land of aloha to officially end the Korean War.
I called the mayor’s office on Monday and asked if he would be willing to host such a meeting. So far, no answer.
An official press release from our mayor’s office could get the attention of all concerned almost immediately.
All diplomatic options have certainly not been tried, yet, no matter what the White House and others say, “hope springs eternal.”

‘Be prepared’
Hawaii once again could be a prime target by a rogue nation, this time North Korea, as it was with Japan. The difference this time is Hawaii is one of the 50 United States.
The North Korean dictator (Kim “the minion” Jong-un) has no idea of the consequences of his actions, should he be so foolish enough to try to attack Hawaii, Alaska or one of our Pacific allies. North Korea would be destroyed, never to return.
President Donald Trump and his Cabinet are well-versed in military experience and prepared to take whatever action necessary for our protection. Any foreign entity that wishes us harm will be met by any and all means available, political or militarily.
So, Hawaii, follow the Boy Scout motto: Be prepared.
